Aaron Timberlake — DJ, audio engineer, MC and event producer. Detroit native, South Florida based, and the one person running the music, the sound and the mic at your event.
Aaron also keeps a personal vinyl collection of over 1,000 pieces — spanning hip hop classics, house, disco, and classic rock — curated and ready to bring warmth, texture, and a bit of crate-digging magic to any event or function.
How I got here
I'm a Detroit native who came up behind the decks and behind the board. After a communications degree at Eastern Michigan, I spent years on the technical side of events — running hotel AV with PSAV, then managing lighting and leading tours for the Institute of Wedding and Event Design.
That's the part most DJs skip. I know what a room sounds like when the system is set up right, how light should move with the music, and how a timeline actually runs when the planner, the venue and the photographer all need something at once. Ten-plus years in, I still show up as the DJ, the engineer and the MC — one person, no gaps between vendors.
Now I'm in South Florida — hotel pools and ballrooms, brand activations, clubs and weddings — building Open Format, the company behind all of it.

I don't run the same four-on-the-floor set every DJ in town can play. Every room gets music chosen for it — the lobby at five, the pool at two, the dance floor at eleven. If it could be anyone's playlist, it isn't mine.

On the mic
MC for weddings and events — announcements, introductions and timing, handled without the cheesy stuff. Off the clock, I sing jazz.
In the studio
Custom edits, remixes and sound design, built on a UA Apollo and Ableton Live rig. The same ear that picks the next record mixes the track.
